Prepare for emergencies at the avalanche rescue training center
To make sure that you are prepared for all situations, there is a state-of-the-art LVS Trainingcenter for avalanche preparedness, very close to the Sporthotel Steffisalp****. Under the professional instruction of the ski and mountain guides at the ski and snowboarding schools in Warth and Schröcken, you can learn how to properly use an avalanche transceiver, probe, and shovel. The hour-long hands-on course is held on Mondays and Sundays (bring your own equipment), free of charge. The LVS-Station [avalanche safety station] is in operation daily during the ski resort opening hours and can be used free of charge.

For beginners: Freeride Crash Kurs
With their one-day crash course, the Warth and Schröcken ski schools offer the perfect introduction for all those who wish to venture away from the slopes for the first time. Here, the certified mountain and ski guides can show you the ski resort’s hotspots and will point out the biggest and most important hazards. There are courses held for all outback beginners every Sunday and Wednesday in Warth and every Thursday in Schröcken for 75 euros per person including freeriding skis and safety equipment. If you prefer individualized attention, you can also book a private freeride crash course.
For gourmets: Arlberg Tiefschneekulinarium
A five-hour freeriding experience with culinary highlights awaits those taking part in the Arlberg Tiefschneekulinarium with the Arlberg Snowsports ski school. After a day in the powder snow on the Arlberg, from Lech to Bockbachtal, up to Birchetsgump, you can visit the cozy and rustic Postalm, where guests are treated to local delicacies. The Tiefschneekulinarium can be booked upon request with a minimum of four participants for 99 euros per person (including guide, food and taxi transfer, excluding drinks).
