Hardly anywhere freeriding is so much fun – and above all makes that much sense – as here in the Arlberg region! Warth-Schröcken can boast an average amount of natural snow of 11 meters per season!

In addition, as a deep snow lover, you have plenty of opportunities on remote slopes and backcountry. Thanks to the connected Ski Arlberg ski area, you can also get from Warth to Lech Zürs, Stuben, St. Christoph and St. Anton – and back again, all in one day, of course!

Deep snow lovers and powder fans will find numerous opportunities to carve their own tracks in untouched slopes with 200 kilometers of deep snow away from the 300 kilometers of groomed slopes.

Of course you can also book certified ski guides from the local ski schools. In groups of 4 to 6 participants, you can go downhill in one-day or multi-day tours, depending on your choice. There are many Hike & Ride tours for all ability levels on the numerous northern slopes of the region, accompanied by professional freeride guiding.

A highlight is the Pfarrer-Müller-Tour. As early as 1895 the pastor of Warth got his first pair of skis to practice secretly at night in the church yard. After learning for a while, he ski-toured from Warth to Lech – even though these places were isolated from the outside world for several weeks during winter season, due to the large amounts of snow and a lack of infrastructure (no roads, lifts, snow clearance, …). Even in the winter of 1965, i.e. 70 years after Pastor Müller’s tour, it still happened that Warth was separated from the Bregenzerwald for more than 120 days in winter. That’s what makes Pastor Müller’s performance from his tour at the end of the 19th century even more impressive.
The route led (and still leads today) from Warth (1,500 m) over the Wartherhornsattel (2,200 m) via a deep snow descent past Bürstegg to Lech. The way back leads over the Mohnenfluhsattel (2,300 m) via the north descent back to Warth-Schröcken. Successful participants are now allowed to immortalize themselves in the Pfarrer-Müller tour book.

The Warth-Schröcken tourism region also organizes annual events such as the Freeride Testival or the SAAC Saacn’d Step Camp, plus offers such as the Freeride & Safety Kick-Off.
