Lechweg tour maps: 2 or 3 stages

1st stage of the route: Formarinsee-Lech

Close to the Formarinsee, you can find the source of the Formarinbach, one of the two head streams of the Lech. Just a few kilometers further along the route, the Formarinbach and Spullerbach come together to form the Lech. The Formarin Alp is located to the north of the Formarinsee. The route then takes you past the Ibex Monument the commemorates the reintroduction of the wild animals. This region has now become home to the largest ibex colony in Europe with around 600 animals.

2nd stage of the route: Lech-Warth

Wild and gentle at the same time: You will walk above the Lechschlucht via the district of Stubenbach to the Grenztobel, which forms the border between the communities of Lech and Warth. On the way there, there are some small mountain streams to be crossed. You continue through the Grubenwald forest and past the Teschenberg Alps to a small wooden bridge over the Lech, which is secured using steel cables. Take a break, enjoy the romantic backdrop and take your chance to go swimming in the magical green-blue Lech.

3rd stage of the route: Warth-Steeg

Adventurous and natural: In Lechleiten, there is the Schrofenwies natural rock climbing garden with over 31 routes for beginners and experienced climbers. You continue further into the Lechtal along the Panoramaweg to Steeg. You can treat yourself to a pit stop at the Naturkäserei Sojer cheese shop. It is the only cheese maker in all of the Lechtal, and therefore contributes to the survival of the local farmers and their farming businesses.
