Escape the heat of the city now and spend a few refreshing days and nights at Hotel Steffisalp in Vorarlberg.

Currently, another heatwave is sweeping through Austria. Especially in the last week of August, temperatures beyond the 35 degrees Celsius mark are expected, particularly in the east. Who doesn’t know it – especially at night, it often doesn’t cool down properly, making sleep hard to come by… but we have a tip for you here:

Leave the hot concrete landscape of the urban jungle behind you and spend a summer vacation in Warth am Arlberg at an altitude of over 1,500 meters.

Here in Warth, you can expect fresh mountain air due to the high altitude alone – perfect for keeping a cool head in this heat! Because for every 100 meters of altitude difference, the temperature drops by almost 1°C in strong high-pressure conditions.

Tips for hot summer days in the Bregenzerwald region

Ideally, the Warth-Schröcken region offers many opportunities to cool off even more.

Starting with a leisurely rowboat ride on Lake Körbersee, followed by a dip in a cold mountain lake after hiking, or even whitewater swimming. Or simply forest bathing or mushroom hunting – after all, it is proven that it is a few degrees cooler under the shady treetops of the forest.

For brave adventurers and water enthusiasts, there are also more action-packed activities like canyoning or rafting and canoeing tours on the wild Lech River.

And to give you an idea of the literal refreshment a mountain stream or river can provide: In summer, the Lech River reaches a maximum water temperature of chilly 14°C. That’s why for these whitewater activities like rafting or canyoning, you also wear an 8mm thick wetsuit that protects your body temperature. But rest assured, even with a wetsuit, it will still be refreshingly cool! We can certainly recommend it.

Alternatively, we have another option: Flying Fox. This way, you not only enjoy the view at lofty heights but also feel the wind as you ride from point A to point B on the zipline. The adventure park and high ropes course in Schröcken also offer thrills, heights, and adrenaline rushes while climbing over the gorge of the Bregenzerache River – right in the shady forest above the whitewater.

So – what are you waiting for!

See you soon at the 4-star Hotel Steffisalp in Warth am Arlberg.
